Keeping the inside of your engine clean and lubricated is critical for proper function. Today’s engine technology produces hotter combustion temperatures, higher cylinder pressures, less ring tension, and tighter tolerances than we have ever seen.

These conditions combined with prolonged drain intervals contribute to oil thickening and deposit formation. This means that JUST an oil change is no longer sufficient to keep your car running efficiently for the long haul. For this reason, we here at Main Street Mechanic have upgraded our oil changes to various Engine Service packages.

The only difference between a basic oil change and our starting Engine Service package is the addition of BG MOA Advanced Formula Additive. After draining the fluid and removing the filter, we fill the oil valve with BG Full Synthetic or BG Synthetic Blend Engine Oil, leaving room in the crankcase for the addition of BG Advanced Formula MOA® with the new oil. BG Advanced Formula MOA is an oil fortifier that keeps piston rings from sticking, stabilizes oil viscosity, prevents increased exhaust emissions, reduces wear, prevents sludge and varnish, and is resistant to evaporative oil loss.

Upgrades in Engine Service packages include the addition of BG EPR® which softens and dissolves hard-to-remove deposits from piston rings, cleans micro passageways to maintain the critical hydraulic function of components such as valve train actuators and turbochargers, restoring fuel economy and power. We can also use BG Platinum® 44K® Fuel System Cleaner, which softens and dissolves hard-to-remove deposits from piston rings, cleans micro passageways to maintain the critical hydraulic function of components such as valve train actuators and turbochargers, restoring fuel economy and power.

Engine Performance Service

Includes all three additives plus a three-part deep cleaning of the vital components in the engine. It dissolves deposits, prevents sludge buildup, and restores fuel economy.

As always, with every Engine Service, we include an oil change, visual inspection of fast moving parts, top off fluids – coolant, washer, and transmission when applicable, draining engine oil, oil filter removal and replacement, check of cabin and air filter, and maintenance reset.
